Cannot start the game after splash screen
I recently bought Star Wars Squadron but I couldn't get the game open even once.
Every time I try to open it, it just shows the splash screen loading, then closes it and nothing happens.
Steam says I'm playing when the splash screen appears, and then it goes back to playing nothing after it disappears. The process just closes on its own.

I tried:
- Turning off all RGB software (Razer Chroma)
- Turning off all antimalware software
- Adding "-windowed" to Steam launch parameters
- Moved the game from an NVME SSD to a sata SSD
- Moved the game to a mechanical HD
- Launching it from Geforce Expeirence
- Launching it directly from the .exe
- Repairing the Easy Anti-Cheat with their utility (Shows "Current (Game 474)")
Nothing worked

I left my computer with almost nothing running in the background, and it still does not launch.

Any ideas?

I think I can help you with this because it just happened to me. The issue I had is my laptop has a very high resolution screen and Windows scaling is set to 250%. This game is not set to start in that high of a resolution, so I just had to set my Windows scaling to 100%. Here is the process I followed, but obviously it's Windows so there's lot of different ways to get there:

1.) Hit Windows key and start typing "Display". Click the option that says "Change the resolution of the display."
2.) Set your Windows scaling to 100%.
3.) You should now be able to launch the game.

What I did next (now that I could actually play the game) was to set the display within the game settings to its highest resolution. Then I was able to follow the above steps to set my Windows scaling back to default which was 250%.

Hope this helps!

I had a similar issue when playing in VR, after alt F4 and retrying i noticed an EA Origin login popup. Had to navigate it without mouse and keyboard, but then game worked.

Yea, I also had that problem. I actually got frustrated and started it in 2D to do the account sign in. Then I exited and started it up in VR. Still tinkering with it to get it to play in VR. I have some pretty extreme shuttering ... which is hard to understand since I have a 2070 Super on a top notch Alienware. Didn't expect problems like this.

Thanks, unfortunately it did not fix my issue.
I disconnected my second (inactive) display just to see if it had something to do with it, and nothing.
After I created this post I also tried

- Turning off MSI Afterburner
- Turning off the Nvidia Overlay
- Turning off Nvidia altogether (Experience + Control Panel)

And nothing...

Sadly my hardware is Intel with Nvidia and no dice.
What did manage to work was the following:
- I installed an entire new Windows instance in a separate SSD
- Installed only Steam and Squadrons
- It runs

I shouldn't have to do that for one lousy game. If support says "oh, it's your PC" but I can run hundreds of games without any issues except for Squadrons, I'm confident to say otherwise.
