1.) Hit Windows key and start typing "Display". Click the option that says "Change the resolution of the display."
2.) Set your Windows scaling to 100%.
3.) You should now be able to launch the game.
What I did next (now that I could actually play the game) was to set the display within the game settings to its highest resolution. Then I was able to follow the above steps to set my Windows scaling back to default which was 250%.
Hope this helps!
Thanks, unfortunately it did not fix my issue.
I disconnected my second (inactive) display just to see if it had something to do with it, and nothing.
After I created this post I also tried
- Turning off MSI Afterburner
- Turning off the Nvidia Overlay
- Turning off Nvidia altogether (Experience + Control Panel)
And nothing...
All Drivers updated, windows wt VR on and off!
Sadly my hardware is Intel with Nvidia and no dice.
What did manage to work was the following:
- I installed an entire new Windows instance in a separate SSD
- Installed only Steam and Squadrons
- It runs
I shouldn't have to do that for one lousy game. If support says "oh, it's your PC" but I can run hundreds of games without any issues except for Squadrons, I'm confident to say otherwise.
