they are a coop mode too who is very interesting
The campaign is shortish (though not massively short depending on what you compare it to. 6-10 hours, towards the higher end if you play on at least veteran difficulty (which I recommend), that's in the same ball park as Half-Life or Halo. Certainly shorter than I'd like but still plenty of meat there to get stuck into. Really shines the second time through playing on Ace difficulty too and there are several missions I can see myself playing over and over (much like I did with certain Halo levels).
Add to that plenty of fun offline fleet battles with bots when you just want to blast some stuff and I can say without any hesitation YES as someone who plays mostly offline it is worth it. Doubly so at the current sale price, in fact it's a steal right now.
