"There is an issue with drift controls using joysticks where the "Drift while boosting" button acts like a modifier rather than an input.
Normally you press the boost button once then hold the drift button to drift while in the boost.
With the issue, you press the boost button once, then hold the drift button AND hold the BOOST button to drift."

I still have yet to 'resupply droid' in game, no keybinding I can find anywhere :(
I know in the story mode it gave me a prompt (I have text hints turned on) and it told me to push button 8 for droid resupply (seems the auto mapping has multiple functions for each button) and it does something else if I hold it down. I'm using an xbox/pc HOTAS system.
When she says "cut engine power" it's not referring to your throttle, she means "turn off boost"
So:
1) Set power mode to engines
2) Press boost button
3) Yaw all the way left/right
4) Press boost again to stop boosting
5)????

The real issue is that you can't start to drift until Keo tells you that.
Thanks ExoduS! This was doing my head in!
To add, I know the OP has issues with a HOTAS.
I am using a logitech exrteme 3d pro. So basically a joystick w/throttle lever and side tiwst for rufdder inputs. Not sure if that technically counts as HOTAS or not, all I can tell you is: When I followed her instructions re: "turn and cut power" using my throttles, I failed every time. when I just pressed the boost button again to turn off boost instead of using the throttle lever. It passed.
That's all I know. It's possible I mucked up my controls when I was rebinding buttons and now my throtle doesn't auto-cut boost. not sure. I just know i kept failing over and over until I left the throttle alone and just pressed the boost button when she said "turn and cut power". If this helps other people get passed that mission objective then I'm glad I could help.
There's an option (in Controls, but not where you map the controller) you can disable so you can only cancel boost with the boost button. :)
Yea it confused and annoyed me too.
Several attempts I tried boosting and cutting the the thrusters thinking I wasn't getting close enough to the ship for whatever the hell it wanted me to do. Then i searched the keyboard controls even though I'm using a stick to find the drift button and managed to eventually do it by hitting that.
Terrible tutorial that one for sure never going to use that feature.
