There most certainly is not.
Rebels can't be white because whites have power and privilege, thus only minorities and those without power can be Rebels.
The Empire, however, has both power and privilege, thus whites are allowed on their side.
Each race is represented equally. If that bothers you then you need to rethink your worldviews.
Gonna go on a "peaceful protest"?
I can see a white female option for Rebels but not a white guy. Why was the option omitted for Rebels?
There's a white dude with a beard what are you on?
I get it, and its awesome that there's a whole range of options to choose for your avatar. I also appreciate that for other people out there this may be a welcome change from other games that had far fewer ethnicities to choose from. But I, myself, am a white dude. And when I play games that let me choose my avatar I tend to pick or create something that sorta kinda looks like me. Is it a deal breaker? Absolutely not (although the mouse and keyboard controls kinda are . . .). I'm not going to refund the game because of it, but why can't you just throw in the token white guy?
I'd really like it if the character customization was like Dragon's Dogma, or at least like Skyrim's. The amount of options is beyond lackluster and too constraining. Granted, you're not really gonna be seeing anyone's avatar when you're dog fighting, but if I'm given the option to make my own character, I want the full thing.
I see what's confusing ya. Fella doesn't have blonde hair and blue eyes.
I'll give EA the benefit of the doubt in that they did not conscious 'exclude' a certain ethnicity.
If they did, that is actual, literal, non-arguable racism.
I think being as unconditional as possible by allowing as many character customization possibilities is the right way to go. That is true inclusion and diversity.
Saying, we're only going to include types of people with this amount of melanin in their skin and not everyone else's is not diversity.
