No Flight Stick Option in controls
My HOTAS (Thrustmaster X) is installed and seen by my PC, but I have no Joystick option in Squadrons. I've tried to use controller settings but it does not recognize the thrust stick. Any suggestions?

It's a generic option under "flightstick"

No specific option for Thrustmaster, Saitek etc etc.

(Edit I use a Warthog. Works fine,)

Does this work? I have the Thrustmaster X and am holding off on buying until I figure out a few things.

My first impression of the videos is that they just took Battlefront 2's space battles, added directional/powered shielding (similar to Elite Dangerous's energy allocation), copy/pasted the maps from Battlefront 2 (minus a few), and added a few different abilities. But for some reason reduced lobby size to 10. Is that about it?

How difficult is it to add/play with friends on Xbox & PS4 at the same time?

FIXED! I had a Xbox blue tooth fob plugged in. Removing it and restarting fixed the issue. Also, make sure on the Thrustmaster X that the PC/console switch is set to PC.

Same here. My Joystick (Saitek Cyborg Evo) works perfectly with other games and I can configure it in Windows settings.
But ingame I only see Keyboard/Mouse and Controller. Even though, I don't have a gamepad. My joystick does work with gamepad settings but Z axis is not working and speed is only 0% or 100%.
It's a pain...

You probably need to force off global controller in properties.

I'm playing the game through Origin but I had this exact issue. The problem I was having was that whilst my PC was recognising the stick and throttle it was registering as a PS3 controller in game.

Try the following, as this solved it for me:

1. Check the switch at the back of the unit and make sure it is set to PC.

2. Disconnect the stick and reconnect it to a different USB port. (I would recommend the back ports as I've heard issues about the front ports not detecting it correctly)

3. Wait for the PC to do it's plug and play set up. Then in your start menu type "Set up USB Game controllers". Open this and check to see if it is listed. If it has worked correctly it should show as T.Flight hotas X.

If there are any brackets in the name like (PS3) or (PS4) it has not worked and you may need to completely uninstall the stick using device manager and start again.

Hopefully this helps you and anyone else having the same problem.

Go Into Your Steam Library and Right Click on Squadrons Settings ,Slecct Glocal Forced Off , Then Launch The Game in Non Vr Mode ,Go into options Controls and Your Flight Stick will Show up To Bind

Yes, got my Cyborg 2003 and it's still the best allrounder joystick I can find. So far never had trouble and still use it for Elite and X4.
But thank you for your answer, looks like I don't need to give my hopes up.

I did force it off. No difference...

I might try those tipps. Thank you. I totally forgot, I did have game controllers set up for my system. Might kick them out all together and try to reinitialize everything again.

Fingers crossed...

i wanted to use my Saitek X52Pro, but it looks like it will not be simply to setup. looks like the game is geared toward more xbox gamepads or mouse and keyboard. I have used a flightstick on every X-Wing game I have played, so it just seems natural too me that i should be able to use it here

It's not that complicated, most of the problems are due to steam input interfering with the detection followed by WIndows giving low priority to the controller of choice (which has been a problem FOREVER in joystick games).

Gave up...got a new Joystick. Now it's working just fine...

My Saitek Cyborg Evo from 15 years ago is not recognized at all. Also in game I don't find any option for "flightstick" ?

p.s. also whenever the Saitek is connected, the game starts but goes to black and goes back to desktop. I thought it was a coincidence but sadly the game starts completely fine if the joystick is not connected....super weird thing.
