Also works with a Xbox 360 controller if you are looking to save a buck.
Wired or Bluetooth? My wireless was detected right away but I normally have it plugged in with a USB cable as was the case last night when I played.
Highly recommend switching to a controller. I switched from controller to keyboard and mouse just to see the difference and switched right back. Controller for sure is better.
HOTAS support is meh. It is still not as tight, and Squads was clearly designed for controllers (VR and standard console, e.g. Xbone/PSX) in mind with flight sticks and KBM as an afterthought. I'm using an X-56 flight stick with throttle and it is really finicky. Took several hours to get the controls in a decent state, I had to max out sensitivity for everything except the throttle, tinger with the dead zone and not all buttons map as they should so I've had to find alternatives. While I often come out on top with kills in games (usually top 3), it still doesn't have that tightness w/ HOTAS controls that Elite:Dangerous has.
