Cannot even setup resolution to 3840x2160 (my default res), the game accepts only 1920x1080.

Alt + Enter is the only way to fix this.
I mean.. Again, not surprised. Electronic Arts has a reputation to uphold, and this have confirmed it deeply. Non caring shovelers of barely passable games in big IPs.
Edit: And the next day a massive update for a barely played and dated game, an update that takes a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of time to apply, but doesn't actually change or do anything, and leaves the game unplayable without it.
EA at their best.
