Mod support/ Level Editor
Having played X-wing and Tie fighter for many hours as a kid, I have to say I'm excited about this release. It looks like devs have a lot of reverence for those earlier games as well. EA is doing a lot of things right with this, such as cross-platform, cross-store and no DLC.

X-wing had some slower-paced missions involving reconnaissance and escorting convoys which really helped to build the tension and atmosphere. I suspect these levels might not appeal so well to a modern-day audience. It would be great if there was possible to recreate some of those types of levels and custom campaigns for the purists.
It's probably too much to ask for a full-blown level editor, but it would be great if the game was open enough to support modding in new levels.

Don't dream on it. EA games are hard to mod, because they lock everything since their games are online games.

i think it has more to do with their engine, they build their games on their in house frostbite engine, which apparently is notoriously hard to work on even for the developers themselves, and i dont think modding is even a thing at all in frostbite games.

I'd love a mod that makes Squadrons look more like the original trilogy.

It looks fantastic, but ... I'd like to take out some of the color and have a darker more industrial feel to it.

If mods are possible for squadrons and custom ship design mods could be created would it be possible to fly ships like the ghost/Laat gunships/Millennium Falcon with complete interior ship design. Obviously not cargo hold but cockpits.

Also really surprised there wasn't a deathstar run already added to the base game given the vr capabilitys 🙄😕

they could open this game to steam workshop if they don't want to add dlc.

That would be a good idea, but it seems the biggest issue with modding frostbite are all the undocumented frostbite only file formats.

It would be awesome if EA would be more mod friendly. I would love it if you could fly the Millennium Falcun in thus game.

Totally Agreed! Modding, and/or level editing with custom missions, like sieges, escort missions, hide-and-seek kind of user created fun missions, that would be so much fun

Ironically, I want modded levels that aren't in space. I'd love to play a mission where you have to zigzag through Beggar's canyon on Tatooine, or around the Eriadu mountain peaks, or something. Also Clone wars vehicles would be SICK as hell.
Just add a profile to Frosty Tool Suite that runs off the launcher with EAC disabled, and has modding enabled.

I had hoped they would sell a decent sized DLC that added planet based missions so we could do air support. Even if it was just a clone of the Hoth attack, that would have at least scratched an itch.

Oh well, I am guessing that ship has sailed.
