From a Canon and Legends standpoint, the Empire is very xenophobic and human-centric. They don't care about skin colour of humans (because race is a sociopolitical thing created from ignorance and human nature), if you're human you're one of them; if you're not, they couldn't care less about you. That's not to say aliens weren't employed by the Empire, but when they were allowed among their ranks as rare as it was, they were often treated as second or third class citizens and rarely garnered any respect beyond what one would give a pile of feces (Thrawn is one of the few exceptions because he actually rose up in the ranks of the Empire in spite of their attempts to wash him out and keep him down.)

As for why the Rebels are mixed and the Empire is white? Probably because someone thought it looked better from a stereotypical point of view and they had little understanding that the Empire wasn't racist, they're xenophobic. Then again, in the original trilogy all we really see is mainly white actors; so I suppose they figured only Caucasian people exist in the Empire?

The Empire was also specifically designed as a racist organization by George Lucas, which is why there are very few aliens working for the Empire.

This was documented in various articles and interviews from the last two decades.

They're actually modelled after the Nazis not the British Empire and the reason for the British accents is because Star Wars stage productions have almost entirely been filmed in the UK, part of the British film industries contracts states that you have to use local talent hence the British actors. There is nothing to do with race or class going on here, they are following a model defined by George Lucas in creating an axis of evil comprised of people that follow a single doctrine and are almost entirely of a single species or race. In the Star Wars galaxy the Empire has little room for alien species.

This is the correct answer, and honestly this is all a matter of common ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sense after more than 40 years. Any hemming hawing about political correctness or EA or whatever else is just ignorant nonsense.

Everything is a construct of what we give a label to, so race can and does exist, being mixed raced myself I like to acknowledge that fact. Also you really think a multi-billion dollar company just randomly throws things together. They are one of the big companies that are pushing political crap into modern games. None of the original rebels aside from Lando were Non-European, so that argument that it's Empire only goes out the window.

Slight troll, slight serious. No-one answered my comment properly either, they keep going on about the empire being anti-alien, which doesn't address why the human characters are mixed for the rebels, and white only for the empire. They also bang on about it being based on the British empire for their Upper-class South-East accents, which is obv what starwars was always like, but that doesn't explain the all white bad guy cast. It's ridiculous to assume a huge company like EA doesn't do this stuff deliberately as a bid to push political agendas into video-games, just like with all media nowadays.

It was a respond to you saying that maybe they made the Empire characters white, because that's what they were in the movies, which obviously isn't the case since the rebel characters were all white in the originals too.

Also there is greater genetic variation between humans than certain other animals that we class a sub-species within their own species, such as leopards, yet obviously this is ignored for the sake of racism. ♥♥♥♥-sapiens have also shown to contain DNA of other human species in them, averagely 2-4% neanderthal in europeans, and 5% denisovan DNA in Aboriginals of Australia and Papau New Guinea. This isn't meant to cause racism btw, I think it adds to the beauty of the world and natural variation of nature.

It's easy to forget that species and race as we know them are both social/scientific constructs to categorize what in nature doesn't have a firmly defined categorization.
