You should be able to choose that if you want to. My point is that many games are taking on a position that games need to be written from a female protagonist point of view to satisfy a small minority of people that use the product. To me that makes as much sense as changing tampons to cater to men. When I see a game that has a female main protagonist I skip it because refuse to accept pandering to twitter and all of the anti-male sexism that has been pushed.

You can customize your pilot for the campaign, the female pilot was just a placeholder.

I think this game uses chracter creation so you can be whoever you wamt to be, which is fine, but the advertisement reeks of forced diversity. Also I saw a female Imperial Commander with SJW haircut in one scene... nah hard pass, that just doesn't makes sense and feels hamfisted, and looks awful.
I'll just continue waiting for a faithful Rogue Leader HD remaster, that game still looks great and it would be glorious in HD, like the 1st Resident Evil Remake.

i don't care that the rebel pilot in the trailer is a woman, we see male rebel pilots too. we see male and female imperial pilots. we got other alien species too. it won't matter what your pilot is when you're flying a star fighter in space.

I don't think Corporate actually think that woke women sell software, considering so much evidence to the contrary. I mean, women don't necessarily prove detrimental to sales in games, but they aren't an asset. Especially when female characters are so limited by making them perfect woke caricatures of a character. I think there are a lot of folks in position of power that are willing to sacrifice profits to pursue woke messaging.

Look at Grand Admiral Rae Sloane, whose Wookieepedia article features a character quote where she threatens someone who is treating her like a girlish assistant there to be pawed at. Not a quote from a battle she was in, not a quote about ideals that she holds close to her heart and not a quote about any accomplishment she has made.

Ridiculous. Corporations don't have morals or values. They (rightly) exist to maximize profits. They're also hugely risk averse. There aren't people in power pushing wokeness through. If someone was responsible for the loss of 5% of sales, they'd be fired immediately. Everything is done by committee at this level. There isn't room for individual expression.
