For that to work in older games i think updating ACTIVATION CORE files with most recent Origin files and integrated steam api would be enough and that also could be use for activation of achievments any further in any EA game, so none of games would need to be updated directly to pass achievement to steam.
Please pass this idea to Origin software engineers.
Btw there are few old games like mass effect 1 and 2 that has no achievement integration into steam but has their own internal achivements system - i have idea how you can implement achievements for them without updating games directly.
Just add save game scanning algorithms into origin hook and add it as some hook dll to older games that has or even has not achievements, and check if achievement conditions was met in save data. And for achivement conditions that was not stored in game save files you can use this hooking dll to monitor in game memory for that condition state and store temporary conditions on server of origin.
For example lets say Mirrors Edge, original one that has no achievement on pc, had achivement fot jumping 10 times and this aint recorded in save game - let hook dll to monitor number of times player jumped and store it in local cache that got uploaded to server and synced every time so counter could continue betwen game sessions, and check it additon to game save file to monitor if achivement unlocked yet. You can call it an external achievement state cache file, i think origin already has something like this in games with integration of achivements, but it could be used within games that has no achievement and can be hooked to monitor process for met achivement conditions.
Hope to see this achievement integration in all old EA games on Origin and Steam.
need to at least make it somewhat mandatory to have them like sony!
I want all classic EA games to be released such as the Saboteur my favorite open-world game back in 2009!!!
