Report a translation problem
Don't uninstall the EA app.
Run the EA app installer.
When it find the EA app, it will give you the option to "repair" Select it.
When it says you need to reboot, reboot.
Now run the EA app. You should get to the login screen. You don't need to log in directly. The whole beauty of Steam is that it remembers how to log you in.
Start steam if it's not already running
Start game from Steam, or from the steam desktop icon.
if it is stop and restart it. Give admin rights to the EA app. After you stop background service and start it again then run verify not much time for that and it may work along with xenon suggestions
Most, but not all times, this is because your firewalls are somehow blocking the program's stuff for some reason. I had this happen several times to me, and always excluding the programs that you want to play usually fixes this issue.
Yeah, this will be the cause. People have something on their PC which doesn't allow EA APP to call home and because of this they get *the app timed out.*
