Garbage PC port
- The game keeps crashing with the latest NVIDIA drivers (461.09 - AMD 5800x + Geforce 3800)
- No ultrawide support
- FPS locked to 30 or 60, too lazy to add an extra option to uncap them?
- Shaders should be compiled in-game or during the loading process, it's the only game I played where you have to wait 20 minutes for this process

I might as well download a PS4 emulator and have a better gaming experience than the official PC port.

Edit: I found some workarounds.

- As many others reported, the game is stable with the 457.51 NVIDIA drivers https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/results/167108/
- There's a mod for ultrawide display resolutions https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/1721-detroit-become-human-ultrawide-multimonitor-mod/, although it's not a patch, it's an extra application that needs to run after launching the game
- There's a file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Detroit Become Human\GraphicOptions.JSON where you can increase the max FPS up to 144, simply set FRAME_RATE_LIMIT to 3

A lot of people have commented this game is a lazy / garbage PC port. Just to add some context here, from what i have read, like the rest of the game, the PC port was a labour of love for the developers.

Interesting article here where the developers discuss the port, why certain decisions were made and recognition of things that they could improve on next time:

https://gpuopen.com/learn/porting-detroit-1/

This was developed to be exclusive PS4 game and the first time they attempted a PC port.
Aside for the crashing issue (an issue introduced by Nvidia in December drivers which still exists but will be fixed later this month), I personally think they did a pretty decent job given some of the earlier design decisions they had to work with.

Being able to run the game in 60fps 4k is something that PS4 (Pro) owners very had the luxury of. My only wish was that they had also included HDR support.

Now Quantic Dream are no longer constrained to Sony exclusive games and the success they have had with the game on Epic and Steam, i 100% expect that their next game will be heavily PC optimised and take advantage of features only available on this platform.

They will release patch this month? When? Where can I read more about it?

This is the Nvidia issue tracker, from the Driver release notes (open issues section):
[Detroit: Become Human]: The game randomly crashes. [3203114]

The thread on the Nvidia forum is here.

Nvidia dev has stated they have now fixed the problem (last week) and it will be in the next game ready driver release, which we are expecting to be around the time of Hitman 3 release 20th January.

Dude, nobody cares and that's not a palpable excuse, they released the pc game yes? they launched it, they asked for 40e for the game, they took money, didn't they? so please stop saying that, when you launch a game for another platform whether it is ported or not, you have to make sure it works properly,

Thank you. Lets hope it will work and we can play this game uniterrupted.

Specs: AMD 5600x / Sapphire 5700 xt

Game runs fine for me. Like, easily one of the best performing games that is this stunningly beautiful. 4K resolution, smooth FPS, never a hiccup during my entire play. I run the game from an M.2 2280 Samsung 970, the initial render time was very quick.

They story was a little weak, but engaging. Looking forward to the next Quantic Dream game.

Played for the 1st time, got a crash within 15 mins. 3060ti / Ryzen 7 3700x. Guess i'll wait for the next driver before playing again.

I made a guide to fix crashes some months ago. Works for many people. Check it out:

Unfortunately when I tried this method with mine RTX 3070 it said that drivers do not support my video card.

random crash with 461.09 + 3090 & 5900x +win10 x64 in Detroit

457.51 seems fix it

thanx
