Not working on a newer machines?
Game wasnt working on epic, nor is working from steam. Insta crashes on boot with no dialog box or any window or whatsoever. The only indication that it has been run is me blinking that i'm playing a game it b4 going back to "online" status and leaving dmp in game's directory.

I'm glad it came into the steam, at least there is a slight chance any customer support will come into the play and it will get fixed.

Same, can't launch it. If they haven't fixed it in half a year i doubt they'll fix it now.

well, now i've put my time into reading the mini memory dump file it creates & sending support ticket to quantic dream. Hopefully that'll prompt them to fix it or at least reply back.

The only thing i've noticed in their FAQ was
9 - I HAVE A VERY POWERFUL CPU (WITH MORE THAN 16 CORES) AND I CANNOT LAUNCH THE GAME:
The game can be unstable on CPUs with more than 16 cores. Please know that we are working on this issue. In the meantime, you can disable additional cores via the System BIOS.

But my Ryzen 7 3800X is just 8 Core cpu.

I only have 7700k which is 4/8 so it isn't because of core count or anything.

Which OS did you use?
High as a kite May 26, 2020 @ 4:43am
windows 10, 64bit.

btw. HR and BTS work fine, only DBH doesnt work.

other specs are: Ryzen 7 3800X, RTX 2070 Super, 32gb ram.

I recall it not working too back when i had old system(back in december, when the games dropped on EGS, same symptoms like insta crash with no windows or dialog boxes spawned, only dmp being made): i5-4670K, GTX 1060, 16gb ram

Win10 pro
7700k
rtx2070s
32gb ram

windows is updated, drivers too. Have no problems with other games. It's the first time in years (i can't even remember how many years) the game fails to launch.

Just tried to launch the demo for the first time and having the same problem. No dialogue box, no error sounds, nothing. It doesn't even attempt to load the game for a full five seconds before it crashes and says that I played the game for a minute in my library. I'm on a 7 yr old potato of a laptop, 4 core, so it's definitely not just an issue with newer/higher powered systems. I thought it might work since Heavy Rain ran okay (after crashing once while in the control menu...).

I got in, played for 3 seconds then fans went crazy and it CTD

p.s resolution scale was the problem 1.0 no CTD.

Having the same problem.
At first, it showed a dialogue box basically saying my driver was outdated, I could press OK to continue anyway or cancel. I pressed OK, it didn't do anything, so I figured maybe I should update my driver.

After updating my driver, it won't even open. I can see the process in Task Manager with status Running, then in two seconds it became Suspended and then disappeared.

I've been looking forward to playing this game. Be a shame if it can't run, worse if I've spent my money on it once it's released.

Try this:
- Open the WindowInfo.json file located in the games's installation directory
- Change the "DISPLAY_MODE" value to 1
- Save the file and run the game.

I had the same (or very similar problem), and this worked for me.
I also installed the latest C++ Redistributable from https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads

And, changed WINDOW_RESOLUTION_WIDTH and WINDOW_RESOLUTION_HEIGHT values in the mentioned file, to 1920 and 1080, respectively.

Funny, it worked just fine for me. Only issue I had was the game launched fullscreen onto the wrong monitor. Just had to put it into windowed mode, move it over and change it back. Runs like a charm on High settings at 60FPS with my system:

Core i5 4670K @ 4.4GHz
ASRock Fatal1ty Killer Z87 MB
16GB DDR3 2400MHz
MSI AMD Radeon RX 480 8GB GDDR5 @ 1370core 2200Mem
W10 Pro

-------

When this comes out in a month and I have the $40 (based off of the pricing on EGS) I am gonna mess around with Reshade and make this already amazing looking game look even better (in my own perspective, also SuperDepth3D with Red/Cyan Anaglyph 3D glasses)

Well it works great on my pc tho...
It's running in 2K, all ultra, 60fps

GPU: PNY GeForce RTX 2070 8GB GDDR6
CPU: Intel Core i7-9700KF
RAM : HyperX 16GB 3466MHz
SSD: ADATA 1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe XPG SX8200 Pro
Screen: 2560x1440

Today this issue was fixed for me, neither of the suggested solutions were the reason why the game wont run.

Although I'm not exactly sure which one of two actions i've taken was the real solution, but one of them was updating GPU with the drivers that were released today (446.14). Try that.
