SecuROM error. Game won't launch

I recently purchased the game and everytime I try to run it it comes up with a SecuROM error (5002). I've been to their website and ave tried to run Diagnosis Tool and Removal Tool and results in an error everytime. Has anyone had the same problem and know a fix?

i have the same problem aswell. ive heard that powerISO or daemon tools has something to do with it so i closed poweriso and tried but it didnt work. i can generaly launch the game once my computer so i assume thats because powerISO isnt opened yet. if you have them try exiting/uninstalling them and see if it works. im still working on mine

It may be a conflict in software, if you have a gaming mouse try closing the software for it

Also what happens when you launch the game outside of Steam (LaunchGTAIV.exe)

It was a conflict between my ttesports software and GTAIV. If you have this software, all you need to do is close that software before game launch.

i just got gta 4 and eflc on windows 8 and it wont work AT ALL atleast i can still admire the laundher....right? :(

It's your antivirus. In Windows 8 various antivirus are blocking Rockstar Social Club. You need to disable de Active Virus Control option before launching the game. The problem is more common with Bitdefender. If is your case, just watch this tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ro8a2aj5jM
If you are using another antivirus you need to find where the Active Virus Control is placed an turn off.
