How to activate GTA4 on windows live

Step 1: go to this url https://live.xbox.com/it-IT/RedeemCode and insert GTA4's product key and press enter (you will receive confirmation you redeemed GTA4)
Step 2: Download Games for Windows Marketplace client here http://www.xbox.com/LIVE/PC/DownloadClient
Step 3: Install and Start the Client you just downloaded
Step 4: in Games for Windows Market Place click Download, you will see a list of purchased games
Step 5: below you will see a link like "view activation key", click it
Step 6: copy the key you see there (select text then ctrl +c)
Step 7: Start GTA4, log in with your live account you redeemed the code for
Step 8: when asked, replace Steam product key with the one you received from Games for Windows Marketplace
Step 9: in a few moments if you did it right the game will be activated with full features

thats correct so far. but for european, on step 1 the homepage does not accept my keys and said thats this key is not correct for this sale...now i wait for european-area keys.

I'm from Europe and my key worked, if you just received your product key, give it another 24h to update on Windows Live, I think that's just a matter of waiting, anyways the game works without windows live, you can save games anyways

okay, i hope it will work then soon. you are from italy right? iam from germany and for me on xbox live the code doenst work. I get this reason: "Es gibt ein Problem mit dem mit diesem Code verbundenen Angebot." in english: "There is a problem with the offer associated with this code."

Well I went to the first website and entered the CD key that I got.... But it says "Please Enter A Valid Key." Any ideas??

I did this but the game doesn't show up in the Downloads tab. I'm lost as to what to do now.

I will not work. GFW Marketpalce is no longer updated and supported.

I thought the "shutdown" was quoted for June 1 2014. The "store" is shutdown yes, but they said you could still access your purchased games and downloads through GFWL. GFWL Marketplace is not needed in this equation, so that answer shouldn't be relevant.

No, i cant save because i need to login too GFWL and then it starts loading and then enter a serial key number, and i enter my GTA IV CD key from steam and its not working have tested that for more that i a week probaly months now. im from Sweden and i cant even save my single player. Please i want a awenser.
