[GUIDE] How I got this ♥♥♥♥ing game to work

First off, congratulations Microsoft. You managed to create something even worse than Ubisoft's Uplay.

I didnt have a GFWL account when I started, so this is the easy process I had to figure out myself since Google-searching for anything with the terms "GFWL" or "games for windows live" results in a ton of irrelevent pages.

1) Go to Microsoft.com and make an account
2) Go to GFWL and spend 10 minutes trying to find where on their ♥♥♥♥ing site the download is for their Marketplace app
3) Download the app, get an error when you sign in with no explaination
4) Search Google, find nothing
5) Desperate, try to sign into Xbox.com using your new Microsoft account
6) It tells you that you need to add a Gamertag to your account and generates one with a stupid name (mine was DiabolocEmu25...........)
7) Navigate through their slow-♥♥♥ site to change your gamertag
8) Go back to the GFWL app and finally you can log in! ♥♥♥♥♥s
9) Try to open GTAIV again, greeted with a Rockstar Social Club Login
10) Great, I already made one of these for Max Payne 3. Let's login...
11) Login doesn't work. Try 10 more times with various passwords until you finally click recover password.
12) Open the email, click the recover link, reset password.
13) Login still doesnt work, spend 20 minutes google searching. Find nothing.
14) Randomly try resetting your email address to a new one on Rockstar's website
15) Logging in magically works now, even though the details I'm using are the same as before.
16) FINALLY open GTAIV and get greeted with the GFWL top bar slidedown thing that asks you to log in.
17) Can't click ANY of the buttons on the ♥♥♥♥ing GFWL window because the game is in 800x600 which apparently their mouse detection isn't compatible with.
18) Disable GFWL bar so that I can change the game resolution.
19) Went to the Graphics page of the GTA IV Options menu. Can't change ANY of the settings.
20) Google tells me to add -norestrictions as an launch argument because my graphics card has more than 2GB of video memory. Excuse me for having a nice graphics card.
21) Now I can change the settings and use GFWL's menu. I try to login with my account
22) Can't login with the GFWL account I just ♥♥♥♥ing made and signed in with earlier.
23) After 100 attempts I figure out you have to uncheck "Save my password" before it allows you to enter your correct password.
24) Can't play the DLC content, it wants me to buy them for 1200 microsoft points
25) Figured out I have to link my GFWL account to Rockstar Social Club and also boot Episodes of Liberty City directly from Steam instead of using Rockstar's in-game option to play the DLC

2 hours and 25 undocumented steps later and I can play the game. But I don't even feel like ♥♥♥♥ing playing it after all that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ so congratulations again Microsoft, you can go suck a ♥♥♥♥ as usual. Thanks for ruining yet another game.

yes but how do you transfer gta 4 from steam to the gfwl application

I didn't have to do anything like that. You launch from Steam, and you need to have the GFWL Marketplace app running in the background.

Sadly, GTA IV have the worst PC port ever! MP3 and L.A.NOIR works much better!

If V would have similiar ♥♥♥♥♥♥ port, I will not buy it...

And this is assuming we even get a PC version. Why the hell can't they just confirm or deny it? They are wasting everyone's time and acting unprofessionally by letting the community just stand around waiting for a yes or no.
