Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition

Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition

GTA IV do not read integrated graphics.
[EN]

Dear Sir/Madam,
I have integrated graphics and i have a problem because GTA IV do not read all / the whole graphics.
I have card graphics:
All memory: 1690 MB
Dedicated video memory: 64 MB

Why GTA IV read only dedicated video memory?
So i can not play in GTA IV and GTA Episodes from Liberty City.

Yours faithfully, Daniel.

P.S. I apologize for the language and grammatical correctness.

Szanowny Panie / Szanowna Pani,
Mam zintegrowaną kartę graficzną i mam problem, bo GTA IV nie czyta całej pamięci graficznej.
Karta graficzna:
Cała pamięć: 1690 MB
Dedykowana pamięć wideo: 64 MB

Dlaczego GTA IV tylko czyta pamięć dedykowaną wideo?
Więc nie mogę grać w GTA IV i Grand Theft Auto Episodes from Liberty City.

Z poważaniem, Daniel.

Yes, I have a laptop.
It is a pity, but I play COD MW2 for example, and it works very good.
So it is probably fault GTA IV.

Yep I used to be able to play it but now I can't. I can play Borderlands 2 on high all day. Just not GTA IV. This needs to be fixed. I paid for it on steam and the codes don't work. WTF?
To play GTA IV you have to have a great graphic card and a good processor. The graphic card's memory is not the only thing important in it.
I have a GTX 675MX and a 3630QM i7 processor. I have a damn good system!
I have:
Processor: 4x2,3 Ghz
Ram: 8 GB
And integrated graphics:
All memory: 1690 MB
Dedicated video memory: 64 MB

But GTA IV read only dedicated video memory.
So, I write to support on steam with a request to replace the game.
Because I have a good computer and i paid for these games, but I can`t play.

Theres a reason for all of this.
GTA IV is able to change the amount of memory allocated to the game, in game. The fact that you have an integrated card means that it only has a small amount of real memory, and the rest virtual memory.
GTA is only reading the physical memory, not the virtual therefore it cannot run. Unfortunately, there is not fix for this barring a patch from Rockstar, which i doubt will happen, what with GTA V coming out soon, and also this problem only affecting users with laptops that aren't meant for gaming in the first place.

Thank you for your reply.
Im having the same issue on my PC. i have a quad ccore i-5 and a Saphire Radeon 7950 ccard but it wont let me run the game on hiigh. actually it wont even let me try, the setting wont go up, only downward. and i know for a fact my pc can run this game
That is exactly what mine is doing!
My gta used to worked when i had a cracked version, i didnt like the idea of "stealing it" so I payed for it and deleted the other, but the steam on doesnt ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ work, it has terrible lag spikes every 4 seconds.
Ladys let a professional tell ye (just joking, when I bought the game first I had a crappy laptop and ya, basically setting "availableevidmem" up higher will dedicate more ram as vram (dont put it below 7)

1.create a text file in the game's main folder named commandline and insert the following

-DX9/high
-stereo
-noswapdelay
-forcer2vb
-monspecaudio
-nonprecache
-renderquality 0
-shadowdensity 0
-texturequality 0
-viewdistance 0
-detailquality 0
-novblank
-norestrictions
-safemode
-availablevidmem 7
-percentvidmem 100
-minspecaudio
-novsync

ok i have a fix for this. Im running GTA4 on a laptop with a p.o.s. intel integrated HD 4000 graphics card... an integrated card shares memory. they only have a small amount of dedicated memory. When i ran GTA4 it said i only had 56 mb of video memory. with this fix, it now says i have 4 gigs of video memory.

go to your steam library. right click GTA4. click the Set Launch Options button. type in
-norestrictions -nomemrestrict -noprecache -availablevidmem XXX

(the reason i put XXX is because it will be different for everyone) i have -availabelvidmem 150.0 typed in. the number just multiplies the amount of video memory GTA is reading and get the extra from your pcs ram. so in my case it multiplies my 56 mb. just put a number in, run GTA and go to the options menu and then graphics. at the bottom it will say how much vid mem you have. if its not enough, go back to the Set Launch Options and make the number bigger.
