59 MB?

I recently bought GTA IV and I noticed when I first played things were mising and really glitchy and annoying. It looked like this.... http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198072699561/screenshots/ so I went to the graphics tab and everything was on the lowest it can be but on the bottom it said 202/59MB but according to my specs....

the game may not be able to properly identify your card since its newer than the game? try the commands listed above -nomemrestrict -norestrictions, those will allow you to turn the game settings up freely reguardless of what the game detects.

It depends on what your computer can take and what your needs are. You do have a desktop computer, correct? If so, make sure to look up your mother board model (download the program "Speccy" to see the model number) online and see if the motherboard has a PCI Express X16 slot for graphics cards. If you do, you then want to open up your computer and check the company, max overall wattage, and +12V rail amperage on your power supply. The wattage for example could be "300W" and the +12V rail amperage could be "20A." If your power supply is under 400W or has no 6-pin power cable, you will have to shoot for a low powered GPU. Let me know what you find out and I can give you a range of graphics cards that would work for you.

Speccy just lets you see the components and related information inside your computer.

Is your computer using the M265X or Intel graphics? There should be a way to force the game to use the M265X, which SHOULD have 2 GB VRAM. I'm thinking your game is choosing the Intel if it's showing 24 MB.

And by command line, you mean when you go to the GTA IV folder, open the command line txt file and add the commands?

I had the same problem on an intel hd graphics 4000, go back to launch options on steam and remove everything you already put and leave in "-availablevidmem 4.0" WITHOUT the quotations. Even I had 59 MBs but that fixed it.

Wait what this was from 2013? how did I even get here...
