GTA IV won't launch - SecuRom problem - Windows 8

Hello.
I bought and downloaded GTA IV yesterday. I tried several times to launch it, but it still won't launch. After clicking "play" appears window with information about Steam SecuRom activation and it disappers. That's all. Nothing more happen. I was trying uninstalling GFWL and installing newest version - that's useless. Thank you for help and sorry for my english. Merry Christmas! :)

Ok, I have a solution. There is some problem with Bitdefender AV. Just uninstall it...

I can't access the game too. I bought the bundle yesterday and I've installed and activated it. When I type in the username and password for the Social Club it says something like authentication successful but then nothing happens. It's just so frustrating.

And when I see my profile on the Social Club webpage there displays 'No Game Added'. May someone tell me what's up?

Don't try to sign in to the social club and don't try to activate at the first activation screen. Read my tutorial. Activate after you have started the game and are logging in with Live. If you really want to waste time activating with the first activation do this: After the fail, when it gives you the activation screen again hit the back button, not the manual activation, this is where you can input the cd key and it will activate, but you still have to go through the Live log in and activation with Live. If you just hit cancel on the activation and play offline on the social club the game will start, you just have to wait.

Yes,bitdefender blocks the activation to pop out,you need to dezactivate it during the process!

GTA IV doesnt work on windows 8 u need a windows 7 or lower i think i know it doesnt work on windows 8 becuase my friends laptop runs on it so if u have windows 8 go back to windows 7

Rubbish! I am running it with Window 8 with no problem and many have done so.
