xbox 360 controller for windows not working right
I've searched for the past couple of days to come up with a solution but haven't found one. I recently purchased a wired MS xbox 360 controller for windows to use with certain Steam games. I've only tried it on Batman Arkahm Asylum/City and GTA IV so far.

The controller works fine in the Batman games. In GTA the button mappings are all mixed up. Some examples: The A, B, X, Y buttons are all switch around. The right control stick does nothing. The trigger buttons do nothing. Accelertation and braking are linked to the 'back' and 'start' buttons. It's a mess.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix this? Is there any way to reset the mappings to the defaults?

Weird. Sound like the configuration for a directinput controller (e.g., PS2 controller). Since the Xbox 360 controller is an xinput controller, check to see if directinput is turned on in your options. If it is, turn it off. GTA4 was designed for the Xbox 360 controller, so it should work well, even with the wired version.

i have fixed this problem, im experiencing this too. If you installed a program to make your controller work like the windows for xbox? or the xbox360.cemu thing, if you installed it uninstall it, and restart your game. this is how i fixed mine hope this helps :)
