High fps issues with FusionFix?
Hi folks. I just installed GTA 4 again today because I felt like replaying it, and I remembered that the PC port is quite buggy, so after doing some digging online, I learned about the FusionFix mod, and I'm just wondering if there are still noticeable bugs and technical problems in the game when its running at higher framerates (like 100+) with FusionFix installed.

If I just install the mod and cap it at 60, are there any visible problems?

Yes certainly; see https://github.com/GTAmodding/GTAIV-Issues-List/issues/112. It starts with a "Unresolved issues" section.

If useful, explicit install instructions at e.g. https://steamcommunity.com/app/12210/discussions/0/4336483474862638306/?tscn=1717759110 or for Steam Deck at https://steamcommunity.com/app/12210/discussions/0/4553785323974546544/#c4553785323975778064

Ah, thanks, I'll take a look at that list. If there's anything too serious, I might just cap the fps at 30 anyway, I don't mind playing a game at 30fps too much.

Well, 60 sort of works, if FF is already taking care of the worst. Personally I just never see the point: the game's designed for < 30 FPS on PS3/Xbox360 so higher is at the very least not needed -- and does in some circumstances make for "harder" in the sense of needing faster/stricter timing from the player.

Yeah, there's that. Also, I just installed the mod and the performance is still... Unstable to say the least. I have every setting maxed out, and a GPU that's well beyond what this game requires (RX 7800XT, roughly equivalent to a 4070ti), and there are still places where the fps drops to 45/50. GPU usage is at like 60%, CPU at 20%. Looks like GTA 4 is going to run like sh*t regardless of your hardware. 30fps cap it is, then.
