Taking forever to load?
So i haven't been able to play this game once yet, i get to the screen where you click start and then it plays the music and loading screen.
This is the screen i've been stuck on for ever. i let it run a full day and the game still hasn't loaded up?
Can any one tell me why and/or how to fix?

Try to re-install the game and the latest version of directx, net framework, and the microsoft games for windows live and marketplace.
Secondly make sure your pc can run the game.

To start we need to remove any programs that use, conflict or depend on the GFWL system or services so un-install:

-The Microsoft Games for Windows - LIVE redistributable and Marketplace
-The Bing bar
-Windows Live Essentials (including Windows Live Messenger)
-Microsoft Silverlight
-The Windows Live ID sign-in assistant (this may be missing from the add/remove programs list)
-Any Microsoft .NET frameworks (not necessary but you can do it if you please)

Then restart your computer.

Next we need to re-install everything in order.

1st - Install Microsoft .NET framework 4.0 depending on your version of windows.

After it installs, run windows update to update your computer with any important updates. If there are no important updates available then you don't have to install them. If you installed an update, then restart your computer.

2nd - Install the Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant.

3rd - Install Microsoft Silverlight.

4th - Install the Games for Windows Marketplace

Restart your computer

Then install, Windows Live Essentials

Restart once more.

Once you come back in, try opening GFWL, it should now open and GTA should now stop crashing, or failing to open

FAQ:
1. GFWL Still won't launch.
-Try signinig in to MSN Messenger and then open GFWL.
2. GTA Still crashes at start up
-Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\GrandTheftAutoIV
-Go to LaunchGTAIV.exe properties and set compability mode to either Windows Vista Service Pack 2 or Windows XP Service Pack 3.
-Launch from the .exe

This should fix all problems, the reason why GTA goes bad is because it NEEDS GFWL to run, without it crashes are bound to happen. Try this last resort and tell me how it all works out!

NOTE: This is not guaranteed to work for everyone!!

Or you can go to steam library, right button on grand theft auto iv, click on properties - set launch options and put this code: -norestriction -availablevidmem 512 -percentvidmem100%. That should work.
