Invisible streets and buildings!!
So I have GTA4 in Steam. I used to play it fine on my older PC, but now I have that annoying problem. I cannot see any streets or buildings. I can see my character, cars, trash cans, people and stuff, but all the other things are just grey.
Specs:
Laptop Acer E5 - G572G
Intel Core i7 - 4712MQ
Nvidia GeForce 840m (2GB dedicated VRAM)
8GB RAM

My launch options are: -novblank -nomemrestrict -norestrictions -availablevidmem 4.0 -percentvidmem 100 -noprecache.

I will appreciate your help. Thanks :)

you need to create a .txt file in game directory to fix it

ok here is fix for the common texture glitch/bug.
1. Create a .txt file named 'commandline' in small letters without the quotes.
2. Inide the .txt file put down this info
-availablevidmem 2.0
-percentvidmem "100"
-novblank
-norestrictions
-noprecache
2. Save your game and play.

Note: You can change vidmem/videomemory to your computer settings if its not 2.0.

Didnt Work? Try This if you use nvidia graphics:
Go to NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL > Manage 3D settings > program settings > select GTA IV in the select a program option > select the option ''USE GLOBAL SETTING (HIGH PERFORMANCE NVIDIA PROCESSOR'' in the select the preferred graphics processor for this program.

Hope it WORKS!!!

I can't help you but I find it funny that I had this exact issue trying to play the game back in 2008/2009 on my pentium 4 with 512M ram and some very low end nvidia gpu with 256M vram on windows xp
