Grand Theft Auto IV Freeze Problem
So guys, I already know about the glitch when the game just shows all the characters and does that in an infinite loop, and then the game crashes. I do not have this problem. What happens to me is that on the mission called "Concrete Jungle" where you go to Little Jacob, I go to his apartment, and then after the cut scene, the screen goes black and it says "Loading..." at the bottom. I can leave it there for hours and hours, even days, it doesn't matter, it's just frozen. So I go to my Task Manager and close Grand Theft Auto IV, and open it again. When I go to that mission again, it just does the same thing, so I have to close it again. The funny thing is that this problem is only on this one mission, so once I fix this, the whole game will be fine. So please everyone, if you have any idea how to fix this and let me play the game, please take the time to reply to this post. I just want to play the game already god darn it! I payed $20 for this and it has just been jam packed with problems and problems and problems. Once I fix this I can finally enjoy the game. So yeah please leave any suggestions. Thank you for reading this long post and have a good day/evening!

Okay here's how I fixed it: Make your Grand Theft Auto IV directory absolutely clear. No mods, not even any texture modifications. And no ScriptHook! But I had x liveless in there, and that didn't cause any problems for me, so you can still use that. Anyways yeah, have a clean directory. You may have to uninstall the game and install again, and if you do, I highly recommend making a backup, (copy the "GTAIV" folder), so that if anything happens in the future, instead of re-installing the game, which can take hours, you can just delete the directory and put the fresh one back in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Grand Theft Auto IV

That was the only thing that fixed this issue for me. I hope I helped. If this didn't work, you can always search the internet again, although unfortunately, it's pretty hard to find help about this.

Best of luck to you!
