Mouse Deadzone when precise aiming
Basically, when I try moving my mouse REALLY slow, it doesn't register in-game. And I can't aim diagonally, only up, down, left or right.

I played GTA IV on an older PC build and I didn't have this problem, but after reinstalling it it's there. Has anyone experienced this and know the fix? From what I can find the only 'solution' is to increase the DPI on your mouse by a ♥♥♥♥ ton and lowering sensitivity in-game, but I don't know how and I don't want to have to change the dpi every single time I want to play GTA IV.

It is a worthy mention but it doesn't work for everyone unfortunately.

The dsound and fix files linked through Discord seem legitimate but I've yet to test them as I haven't played since Christmas.
how can i download these files?

The links are in #23, they're the discordapp links as I mentioned in my last reply.

If the link dies, you can download the fix from GTA Inside, just search for Mouse Fix.

This seems to work only half way for me.
Whenever I try to aim up or left, the mouse stops (only when I try to slightly move the mouse) down and right works smoother now thanks to this.
Anyone has ideas how to fix it?

What version of the game are you on? That fix.asi is meant for version 1080, if you're on latest/Complete Edition, try Fusion Fix.

Thanks for the suggestion, although I can't get this mod to work. Looks like there's a problem with an ASI Loader. I've tried the ultimate and the standard one downloaded from the dev's website. Ultimate straight up does not do anything, standard one crashes the game on start-up. I'm currently trying to get it working.

The version of the game is 1.2.0.32 if anyone is curious

EDIT:
Managed to get it working finally. The mod works and the mouse aiming works as great.
Used Ultimate ASI Loader [github.com] from GitHub. The installation mentioned, that if the loader does not work, try changing the name of it do a different ones from the list. "dsound.dll" worked for me. Good look to anyone that is still struggling with this

I tried your suggestion Big Boss and it didn't work for me... I just asked a refund. I hope Rockstar fixes it.

Make sure that you open up the plugin folder and edit a file there, where says MouseFix or something similar, change to 1 from 0. Save it, and relaunch the game. If the mod works, the game will skip the intro.
I'm down to help anyone who needs it

Simply use a clean installation from GTA IV and install the latest ASI Loader (https://github.com/ThirteenAG/Ultimate-ASI-Loader/releases) after that download and install fusion fix (https://github.com/ThirteenAG/GTAIV.EFLC.FusionFix) (just put all of the content from both into root folder of GTA IV and you are done. Thanks to Big Boss for helping

Ahh dang it, I didn't see that GitLab FusionFix project earlier. I was only trying with those files. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/596095038447157259/638828404992638997/dsound.dl

Now, I feel somewhat stupid. I have exactly 2 hours on the game, Maybe if I could buy it again, install all that, start and RUSH to try and if it works, good, if it doesn't ALT F4 and I ask for a refund again :D

I've tried to fix it with those files are as well, but didn't work, someone mentioned the Fusion Fix and tried it. Struggle with it slightly, as I had to use Ultimate ASI Loader and then change the name of the file to something else, after that, the Fusion Fix worked. Just remember to go to the plugins folder and Change MouseFix = 0 to MouseFix = 1 to enable the fix

FusionFix fixes the mouse problem but only on foot. Still can't aim properly while driving. Any tips? Thanks
