Game auto hard-saves on Quit, overwrites all save slots to that last save.

Got back into the game after several months. Now, every time i exit the game, regardless of whether or not I have multiple, different saves from during the session at different save slots, all of those saves are overwritten by the game's automatic "hard save".

I have seen this happen several times now: I make one last save before exiting the game, say at 10:52 AM. I confirm that the save is working by loading it, go do some things AFK, and then close the game. When I check save files, all 4 slots that had saves on them show the time & date of when I quit the game (say, today's date, 11:03 AM).

How can I stop this from happening?

There is no such thing as an "automatic hard-save". GTA4 does not save on exit; only (if autosave is enabled) at the end of missions and after succesful stranger/friend activities.

The savefiles for the Complete Edition are %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\Profiles\<rockstar id>\SGTA4xx with xx=00-11 for the 12 in-game available slots and xx=12,13,14 for the main, TLaD and TBoGT autosaves respectively. If you have the Rockstar cloud enabled the Rockstar Games Launcher uploads them to said cloud (right) after exiting the game -- but certainly nothing is ever being autosaved on exit.

That is; I can't make head nor tails of your post. Have you per chance installed all sorts of mods?
