GTA IV weird performance problem [SOLVED]
When I start GTA IV (with, without DXVK or mods) it runs fine for about 20 seconds and then it starts frame dropping to - 10 the initial set FPS limit, staying that way. Furthermore, it becomes very stuttery and unenjoyble. Seems to me like a memory leak, but no clue how to fix it though.

My Specs:
Rx 6650 (Newest Drivers)
Ryzen 5600

All Needed DirectX components and so on installed.....

I tried everything with or without mods, it always seems to happen even on a fresh install.

Because of some weird reason, that only happens if I start the game through Steam. If I start the game through the "PlayGTAIV" exe, everything works as normal. Hopefully this helps someone.

For me personally, after trying literally everything out there, turning the steam overlay back ON is what fixed it for me. I was having the exact same issue as the above until I did this.

As for the other things, GTAIV is weird with monitors with a higher refresh rate. Your best bet is to use Nvidia control panel to lock the game between 58-60 fps.

Vsync for some reason made the game run horribly, but I think it's because my monitor is 244hz. You can try with this on and off.

There's of course other downloadables and mods. The video I'd recommend following and THEN trying the above fixes is this one:

My specs are as follows low end Intel Iris Xe with 8gb ram latest driver so I dont Know whats going on getting frustrated as one of my favourite games hopefully its just a glitch that will go away.

Maybe a game update or dxvk problem. I have old ass gtx970 and it suddenly drops to 10-15 fps with dxvk. Minimizing the game helps for another 30 seconds and then happens again.

It does not matter if I have DXVK installed or not, either way it drops to 50 and stutters extremely besides the fact that it should run normally.
