I am not able to play online for some reason there is no option.

If you can’t simply just load up the game, bring up a menu click on multiplayer and boom you’re in then it’s not official multiplayer if you have to modify the game in anyway, then it is not official multiplayer which OP was talking about. They were not asking about downgrading the game installing mods using custom servers. None of that they were asking about official multiplayer, and why the option for it is no longer there in the game sorry your so hell bent on downgrading the game and modifying to get multiplayer back but I don’t think that OP wants to go out of their way to do all that stupid ♥♥♥♥ just to get multiplayer back. That’s too much time wasted for something pointless.

No one is like you no one is that obsessed with the game most of us just wanna freely load up the game and then load it into multiplayer no problem. We don’t wanna have to go out of our way. Doing a whole bunch of extra ♥♥♥♥.if they wanted to mod gta 4 then they would have made their post about modding the game

They removed it to force players to buy GTA V and play their official online (and sell more sharkcards lol).
If you don't want to bother I guess you should just do that and buy GTA V if you don't have it yet and play online there...

Not true, if you still have have the original retail release you can play multiplayer via the GFWL client, zero modifications required. There is virtually no one playing it, but I did come across a few players and got a few games out of it just last week.

It's not a custom server. R* never had any servers of their own. The game is Peer 2 Peer. It only uses Microsoft Games For Windows Live for Matchmaking.

Custom servers are only involved when playing through GTA Connected.

It is official multiplayer. No custom server, because as B Ddawg points out the multiplayer uses peer 2 peer.
