my old savegame will not load

i did finished this game with 80%. After that I played liberty city stories. when in I want to save my missions in liberty city stories there is in slot 1 written that slot 1 is for GTA IV. So i save my missions for liberty city stories in slot 3. But when I start GTA IV, it says GTA IV can´t load the last savegame. So how can I solve this problem?

The game defaults to looking for the AutoSave, rather than the manual saves. The AutoSave is now linked to the other game (EFLC), so GTA IV doesn't recognize it. The solution is to just manually load the GTA IV manual save file from the Load Save menu option.

thx so far. but when i start GTA IV in main menu I can only find start game and in the options there isn´t a load/save category. I know load/save exist when you are in game, but that´s the problem, when I want to go in game it can´t find my last progression. So GTA IV asks me if I want to start a new game. Does start a new game delete my last progression?
