Please help i want to get it but does it work on windows 8?

right click the launcher in the steam apps folder. run it on vista service pack compatability 2.

works fine on 8.1 for me

things i did.. i have no idea if you need to do these.

dl firefox and installed adobe flash plugin (win8.1 has built in flash for IE also chrome has built in flash i read this game needs flash so maybe installing the flash pluggin through firefox makes a difference?)

set compatibility mode on the games .exe to win vista sp1 (game did work before i did this but starts up faster now)

did windows update but also set it to get win updates for other ms products (this gets you some updated redistributables i think)

dl and installed latest gfwl before you get the game from steam, http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/pc/downloadclient (if you installed gfwl through steam you might need to uninstall gfwl through programs and features then install lastest version)

set "launch options" in steam for gta4 & eflc... -percentvidmem 100 -noprecache -norestrictions -nomemrestrict -novblank

and also you need a fairly decent pc to play the game as its pretty demanding for a 2008 game!

i just got game for windows and i have a windows 8.1 and i open pops up with rockstar club i login game dosnt pop up help?!

It does work perfectly fine on windows 8.1, You just need to do this fix:

heres how you fix this:
1) you are gong to need a rockstar games social club account. go oto their website then sign up
2) you will need a peice of software called games for windows http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/LIVE/PC/DownloadClient
3) once you have installed it click on run then sign in to your windows/xbox account
4) go in to program files and find steam click on it then click on steam apps then common
find gta iv and then gta iv app.
right click then click on properties the compatibility.
select compatibility mode for windows7.
then go into steam and then select the game you was trying to play and it should work.
