GTA IV Infinite Loading Screen
I bought GTA IV recently and I'm getting an endless loading screen upon start up where it eventually reaches to point that the music stops but the screen keeps going. I know this is a very common problem, but I've scoured the internet and can't figure out how to fix it. My launch options currently contains "-availabilevidmem 30.0. -norestrictions -nomemrestrict -novblank", the "GTAIV.exe" program is set for compatibility mode for Windows 7 (I have Windows 8), I've tried running it as administrator, but nothing works. Does anyone have any ideas?

EDIT: Fixed the problem. I moved "LaunchGTAIV.exe" to the desktop and added "-norestrictions -nomemrestrict -availablevidmem 15.0" after the target. Running this shortcut as administrator gets me past the loading screen just fine and allows the game to be played.

According to the store page for GTA IV, Adobe Flash and Internet Explorer are required for installation. I have also read some forum chatter that you may also need the Windows Media Player/module installed or activated if you have the Win8 operating system.

I would recommend that you explore those issues first.

Please report back when you have feedback, one way or the other.

What exactly do you mean? I have Internet Explorer, Adobe Flash, and Windows Media Player all installed on my computer.

Here's our problem. Rock star doesn't give a ♥♥♥♥ about the money it's making off GTA IV again because of the 6 dollar deal since they already became retired bllionaires off of GTA V and are about to get a second round of hundreds of millions of dollars once they rerelease the newgen console and PC versions, so they do not give a ♥♥♥♥ about fixing GTA IV

I checked forum posts from YEARS ago on google. People have been having these problems since 2008 or whenever the ♥♥♥♥ it came out, and more recently about 2 years people have been having the exact same problems that we're having with it now, and rockstar still hasn't patched it. So they make us jump through all these mother ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ loops with very little success.

My suggestion is to demand a refund for not making the game playable on almost any computer, and just buy GTA V when it's available on your platform.
