Windows 10 x64 fix (seculauncher error 2000)

Long story short, had the problems with launching the game and managed to get over it. Details below:

My symptoms were following:

Could not launch the game. After The social Club "Play" or "Offline Play" button press the error with seculauncher (2000) was popping up. Moreover in gfwl log (C:\Users\<username>AppData\Local\Microsoft\GFWLive\Logs) i saw some exceptions (SSL connection could not be established etc.).

I followed many steps from other guides, such as:

VS 2005 Redistributable

Installed from "Steam\SteamApps\common\Grand Theft Auto IV\Installers\vcredist_x86.exe". It really wasn't an issue for me, because i had many other vcredist (2008/2010/2013). Reinstalling it pretty had no impact on launching the game.

Compability settings

For the purpose of debugging I did set in compability mode "Windows 7" and "Run as Administrator". But in the end I managed to launch the game with both settings switched on and off. I left by switching them off.

GFWL

Installed the official one from this link[download.gfwl.xboxlive.com]

I did not need to have it running while i launched the game. The overlay in game asked me to log in again anyway. Therefore I just started the game directly.

FINALLY THE FIX THAT HELPED ME

I managed to find solution for me on gta forums, credit goes to GrindoLindo and the link to discussion can be found here[gtaforums.com]

I added an IPHLPAPI.DLL in GTA IV path were GTA4.exe is. I downloaded the file from first dll repository found in google --> THIS[www.dll-files.com]

Apparently this file skips the securom of GTA4, therefore I could launch the game and even log in into gfwl (with one crash in between). But after all I could enjoy the story of Nico.


One side note: Added these two parameters to change launch options of Gta4 in Steam,because my VGA has more than 2GB RAM (pretty common issue with not being able to adjust the in-game resolution so it wasn't hard to find that in google too). To not make you search more here are the launch params:

-nomemrestrict -norestrictions

Just tried this and it didn't work... I was so excited :(. I've had this problem for weeks, and nothing has helped me - I've tried every GFWL installation, every Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable installation, every compatibility mode, absolutely everything...

OMG thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!! This worked perfectly after HOURS of doing all the other things you mentioned you had tried as well. Was getting very irritated. This definitely works if you have the correct GFWL Marketplace and Sign in Assistant installed.
