Invalid CD-KEY - solution

Hi,

As many of you out here, I also got issue with invalid key for GTA4. After quick searching I've found this official Rockstar help page which help me a lot: https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/200145246--Updated-7-5-13-Problems-with-GTA-IV-EFLC-Activation-Keys-when-logging-into-GFWL

1. Go to Xbox.com and sign in with your Microsoft Account
2. Go to My Account
3. Click Redeem Code
4. Enter the code that Steam provided for GTA IV
5. Once that is successful, launch Games for Windows Live application and go to downloads
6. Select GTA IV and choose to view the key
7. Enter that key in GTA IV 

So basically insted of putting your CD-KEY directly in-game with GFWL, you need to login with your web browser on www.xbox.com and redeem code on your profile using you CD-KEY for GTA4 from Steam.

After that GFWL ingame still asks for key (original steam key for GTA4 still not worked) so I've entered my steam key from GTA:EFLC and... it finally works!

I still don't know if there will be the same problems with EFLC, but at least now GTA4 works for me.

Looks like this procedure also automatically activates GTA:EFLC, so you don't need to input key for it.

Are you sure that you are using correct redeem page?
I've used this link: https://account.xbox.com/PaymentAndBilling/RedeemCode (after login to my account), clicked that green button to redeem code, and typed my GTA 4 key from Steam (it't important to type there your GTA 4 not GTA:EFCL code).

Welp... I've got the same error when I tried to type there my GTA:EFCL key, so maybe try to use it there. In other threads someone recommend to install GTA:EFCL and to activate directly in that game, but I didn't try this.
Otherwise I don't have any idea how to help you. Sorry mate. :(

I'm currently using Polish version, so for me it's: https://account.xbox.com/pl-PL/PaymentAndBilling/RedeemCode
Anyway I see, that all those key issues are from buying this bundle: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/28987/ Do you also bought it?

Well I find the solution for people with specific problems.
If you cannot open Xbox.com reedem code page;

1- Create a new microsoft account with location "United States".

If you can open Xbox.com reedem code page but it doesnt accept your code;

1- Go to this link when you are signed in; https://live.xbox.com/en-GB/AccountMigration
2- Press "next" button.
3- Select "United States" from the list and press "I Accept".

Once you complete this;

1- Click on your profile name and select "Reedem Code".
2- In that page there is a menu on the left side.
3- Click "Change my Region" and select "United States".
4- Now go back to "Reedem Code" page
5- Enter your 25 characters Code you took from steam (Press Shift+Tab when you open game. Right Top corner "CD Key")
6- It will want you to confirm. Press confirm and it will accept.

1- When all done Run "Games for Windows Live" go to downloads
2- Select GTA IV and choose to view the key
3- Enter the key in GTA IV

Anyone knows a fix for the error "There was an error retrieving your purchase history.". I've entered the key on the xbox site, that worked. I can not get the key needed in the Games for Windows because of the error.
