are servers still on and running ?
i wanna buy the game but im scared if the online servers are down and no one is playing anymore.

if you want to play the multiplayer you have to downgrade the game but yet there is still people playing was in a full lobby like a week ago join the grandtheftrevival discord they do events and stuff

I was actually curious about this because it is asking me to download a 125mb-ish patch for GTA 4? I can't find any info about this patch and if it fixes anything?

idk what patch ur talking abt, but i bought it and it turns out that online is no more working, to play it u gotta do some patching and downgrading the version, join the gta iv revival discord, you'll find everything there

You can still play online via Games For Windows Live. The only thing Microsoft shut down was creating new accounts via GFWL and the marketplace. Rockstar patched it out in the Complete Edition so you’ll have to downgrade to 1.0.7.0 or 1.0.8.0.

do u have any other method to get a cd key for gfwl

GFWL keys used to be visible in GTA4's right-click menu in the Steam library back when it was still a GFWL game -- and if you bought the game back when it still was, I believe that Steam support will supply you with it if you contact them through "I have a question about this product" (it can also be needed for purposes of Rockstar account recovery).

In this case it seems you've just now bought it, which is I believe to say that's not an option for you and as far as I know you won't be able to use the old GFWL online stuff anymore. I'm not a multiplayer so allow for someone to correct me on that, but I believe you might need to use https://gtaconnected.com/

Have heard it said here that that's the superior method anyway, so you may be fine with that...
