finally got all achievements(100%)

Man that was a pain, but kinda fun. Killing all the flying rats and getting 100% on all tbogt missions were the worst. Honestly I might start doing this with more of my favorite games, it's time consuming but fun and you get to enjoy and experience the whole game you paid for.

Congratulations. Yes, GTA4 is a game with well done achievements -- except that those 200 bloody pigeons really are overly painful, and especially if you in the end find out you have seemingly missed one somewhere. Sense of achievement? More a deep, deep sense of relief when it finally pings.

Just to annoy you: if you login to Rockstar Social Club on the web you will find to still have only 55 out of 65 achievements:

Buggers didn't remove the 10 multiplayer achievements when they removed multiplayer...

Damn, I wish I had the game when the multiplayer was still around. I saw that guy on youtube who completed the game(with the online achievements, but he had to buy 3 ps3s). Online looked pretty fun tbh.

It was back when multiplayer was around on PC still a GFWL, Microsoft's Games For Windows Live, game and the achievements were Xbox achievements. I back then in fact had one of the multiplayer achievements (by accident; I'm not a multiplayer) but they didn't transfer over to the The Complete Edition; in fact none of the achievements did, even though if you had e.g. enough money already on an old save game, the "Half Million" achievement would trigger when you for example just bought a hotdog, causing the game to check.

Have used those 10 achievements still being listed in Social Club while being as far as I'm aware unatainable as indication that multiplayer could make a comeback at some point, but have stopped holding my breath. Rumour has it that porting multiplayer from GFWL to Social Club was basically complete but in the end just not enabled, supposedly then since Rockstar just didn't feel like bringing/keeping enough infrastructure up, and in that case those 10 are seemingly just loose ends.

Anyways. It's in any case to say that no one will have them on the The Complete Edition so that's good in a comparative sense at least ;)

yo how did you get that damned car roll achievement? I've been at it for 2 hours doing the swingset glitch or airport method and having my game set to 60hz but still no luck....

I remember I did it legitimately at the airport and seemingly without noticing too much of an issue (on GTX970 and without explicit cap) but it seems you can trick through it by just keeping gas in; seems then the game defines "in one crash" as "until the gas is released"

It would by the way be good if you could be persuaded to try with a 30 FPS cap; if you then get it easily we'll have identified yet another greater-than-30 one.

I got lucky with that one, took me about 10 mins. I used a Cavalcade and I didn't use the swinget on right but the one on the left. I also stuck in the side of my vehicle instead of the back.

Watching that pasted-in YouTube video did by the way trigger a vague memory of perhaps in fact having used the "hold the gas in" thing myself as well; pretty sure at least I watched that video before.

The ones I remember other than the 200 pigeons are the "Finish Him" achievement which appeared impossible to get through tens of attempts until I capped to 30 FPS and got it first try (as in, sigh...) and 20 headshots on TBoGT "Going Deep" 100% run:

i ended up getting it a while ago, i ended up using the Tudor swing on 60FPS and that worked just fine, so if anyone in the future is reading this, try that method out.
