Steam is not the only software that is dropping Windows 7 support either. Most new software requires a windows 10 64-bit operating system as minimum requirements.

to be honest, after the termination of support, nothing has changed for me. all the games still work and are updated smoothly, but steam just keeps writing that support will stop in 0 days
rockstar games is to blame here, since it writes about the end of support with a forwarding to their website.
Just because it works now, it doesn't mean it will always be that way.
My point still stands. Use a supported operating system. Everyone will be dropping Windows 7 support over the next year or so, if they haven't already. Windows 10 reaches E.O.L. next year.
