How to run GTA 4 on Windows 7?

The obvious answer: "update to Windows 10". However, in the current reality this is impossible for me.
Is it possible to somehow bypass this and run the game on Windows 7? Rockstar Games Launcher can easily be bypassed by launching offline mode, but the game itself does not want to start with the error “Support for Windows 7 and 8.1 has been stopped”
Is it possible to somehow enter the game?

You're not going to like the answer but the fact of the matter is both windows 7 and 8.1 support has been dropped by Steam since January 1st 2024. It's not the game, it is the Steam client. Microsoft no longer support the operating system either, so unless you plan on staying offline, you're going to have to upgrade at some point.

Steam is not the only software that is dropping Windows 7 support either. Most new software requires a windows 10 64-bit operating system as minimum requirements.

to be honest, after the termination of support, nothing has changed for me. all the games still work and are updated smoothly, but steam just keeps writing that support will stop in 0 days
rockstar games is to blame here, since it writes about the end of support with a forwarding to their website.

when i try to downgrade, there is simply some error during the downgrade. i dont know why

It have a step need to find your game,GTAIV.exe or game folder.If it said you are not fresh install,you just remove the game and install again,or Verify Integrity of Game Files or just ignore and 'next',if it said you want it install which mods,just 'select all',or may be some error I dont know,cant help you,sorry.

i absolutely did it all. it breaks precisely at the downgrade stage

Just because it works now, it doesn't mean it will always be that way.

My point still stands. Use a supported operating system. Everyone will be dropping Windows 7 support over the next year or so, if they haven't already. Windows 10 reaches E.O.L. next year.

May be your anti-virus software blocked it.It's safe.If this downgrade dont work ,you can find other downgrade software to do this.[Steam-GTAIV-Guide].It just a hint to make you can play with win7.
