Which is better: GTA IV or V
I don't really know what to add to this that the title doesn't say already, except that I'm new to the GTA series, so can someone (preferably with a good sense of how good games are, who is also of a mature enough age that it won't be biased to the new one just because it's new, kinda like how Halo 4 wasn't as good as Halo Reach, but people still like 4 better because it's newer).

IV has a better story, more missions, and a longer campaign. V has three main characters, more variety in the campaign, and is a more polished game, with complex heist mission preparation and multiple options, and generally has better gameplay controls. Both have lots of things to do to get 100% complete. The helicopter controls in IV are much better than V, but V has planes available, and a submarine, too. I enjoyed them both, and would highly recommend that you play them both at some point. Doesn't matter which order, because the common story elements are minimal.

Thanks man!
V is far superior to IV in almost every way. The characters are more likeable, it has more humor that blends nicely into the game and a much much better storyline. You get more involved with each character with side missions and minigames exclusive to each one, for instance, you can only go hunting with trevor, and you can only go to therapy with Michael. There is also far more customization options for all the characters, you have a variety of hairstyles, tattoos and clothes available. You can also customize cars and weapons to your liking. There is also much smoother and overall better controls, in and out of vehicles. There are also more vehicles, and the list is ever expanding as they are still adding alot of new content into the game. It also has heists, which are one of the biggest additions to the game over IV. In heists you can choose one of two or three options on how you choose to approach the heist. One of the options is usually quiet and planned out whilst the other is just going in loud and dumb. Aside from ALL the advantages and additions to the singleplayer, there is then GTA Online. An entire new game with new minigames, new heists and new missions that you can play with your friends. If this isnt enough for you, then theres also a mobile app to go along with the game that allows you to train your dog. The app is pretty weak, but still, what other console/PC game can say that you have the option to get involved with your phone for an extra mini game that actually adds a little bit to the game?
There's more things to do on the side, like San Andreas, GTA IV was a step down from San Andreas, you can't so a whole lot in GTA IV, as you can in GTA V, and SA.

IV has a better story
GTA4 has a crappy story imo. It's a rather uninteresting GTA, apart from the action and the many great mods.
GTA IV, in my opinion, has better overall graphics, especially on PC when modded.
GTA IV has better physics for vehicles and ragdoll effects.
GTA IV has better controls for vehicles, and again, because the excellent physics, the vehicles look much better when moving.
GTA IV has better visual effects for weather, smoke, fire, bullet impacts, explosions.

GTA V has a bunch of great characters and good story.....but nothing from above :(
Imagine GTA V modded for graphics? How about GTA V mods what you want ^

Comparing PC vs. console graphics like you are doing makes so sense and is dumb.

I was just thinking that, they've had a lot of time to polish the game for higher level hardware since the PS3 and 360 release so we can't really say anything about the graphics until it's released.

The story in V was much more fun than IV for me though, Trevor is mental.
Oh well. I got IV as a gift, however I litterally can't get the damn thing to work. I can go to the menu screen, but I keep getting stuck at the loading screen. I guess I'll just stick to Skyrim.
