why does it take screenshots when i use controller?

Which controller are you using? By default with an xbox style controller, pressing the xbox button at the same time as the right bumper will take a screenshot. That is a Steam Client standard.

when i press "esc" on the keyboard, and no the screenshot button is f8, i am using a dualshock 4

Steam's default settings are as I indicated. F12 on the keyboard and as described for a controller. I suggest you change back the screenshot button to its steam default and test. There seems to be a conflict of some description with your current setting.

it's a bug that can happen with any game on steam. you have to change the screenshot button in the steam settings to something else.
