Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition
GTA IV on Low Spec PC
Hey,
so my laptop is pretty bad. Are there any ways to boost the preformance? i dont mind the game looking like GTA San Andreas as long as it means I can get above 30 FPS constantly.

Thanks in Advance

what PC is it? being a laptop is already off to a bad start. im running gt630 and i can run only at medium settings and get about 15-25FPS
Worse haha
Basicaly I've got a laptop with 1.8 Ghz processor and a terrible graphics card. I put the graphics to the lowest and the resolution to the smalest and i can get 24-35 FPS which is okay but i wanna do better.

Specs so we can help you......
CPU: AMD A4-6210 APU with AMD Radeon R3 Graphics which is pretty much a quad core i5 1.8 Ghz

GPU: AMD Radeon(TM) R3 Graphics

RAM: 8GB

OS: Windows 10 64 bit
I got it running on windows 10. look man, I'm not gonna risk loosing my school work for this. If there's no way to imrpove it, I'm not gonna bother haha

As long as your schoolwork is backed up then there is zero risk. And if your schoolwork isn't backed up then you are already now taking a risk. That being said, your comment makes no sense.

woah man, cmon. chill. I don't wanna go into that much complication for just one game. I was thinking more like extra config files, graphical downgrades, mods... etc
Changing an OS is too far

pretty sure you could just run it in compatiblity mode lol
Not sure that you can run better than 25-35 FPS. I'd say lock the framerate at 30 and be done with it. All the other Grand Theft Auto games released before Grand Theft Auto IV were 25-30fps, if the framelimiters were on (which they should be) as far as I'm aware. I'd say make a compromise and be happy with what you get and that you can even boot up the game and play it.

thanks for that. How do i lock the frame rate though?

You can add -refreshrate 30 and -framelimit 1 to the Steam launch options.

I watched some videos on youtube and one of them had a link for download. that made it run. just search it, it should be one of the first 5-6 videos
Another thing to note is that you CAN download mods to make the game run better, but I'm not sure how much exactly they help and if they can even be confirmed to. The point is, I wouldn't suggest it. Have a good one, I'm glad I helped.
