iCEnhancer 3.0 Installation Help

Can anyone give me a recommended installation procedure (step by step) for going from GTA IV Steam Vanilla 1070 (no mods) to version 1040 and installing iCEnhancer 3.0. I know there are articles out there detailing some of this stuff individually, but typicaly they are a few years old and I would like to hear from someone who has done the complete transition recently with the new iCEnhancer 3.0.

My specs:

i7-4770K (Stock)
GTX 780 (3GB) (Stock)
8GB RAM
Windows 7 64-bit
120GB Kingston HyperX SSD (OS)
1TB WD Black (Games)
500GB WD Velociraptor (Data)
Corsair CX750M 750watt PSU
Acer LCD 1080p 120hz Monitor

On YouTube, there's a video by CryZENx, who has a 4770K and a GTX 780 also, and he is able to get pretty much constant 50-60fps, while my first attempt at installing iCEnhancer 3.0 (which was a bit messy and probably didn't do it correctly) I was recieveing 20-30fps. I couldn't change GTA IV settings either in the menu (settings would instantly jump back to their old setting when changed). Also when i launched 1040, I would get the new Rockstar social club pop up (newest one), then after selecting on or offline I would get the old version of social club asking me to accept TOS and login, again. Then it would go back to the newest social club and do the same thing as the first time. After that the game would launch. Also, when I exit GTA IV (1040), the older social club is still running in the background and I have to manually exit out of it everytime so that steam doesn't think i"m still playing and so I can launch it again, or else steam will say the game is already running and fail. Is it like that for everyone, because to me that seems pretty annoying to have to do that everytime.

No worries, obviously make sure you have the latest games for windows (GFWL) installed https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/200148656-Downloading-the-latest-Games-for-Windows-Live-version

Also if you have a modern machine with a GPU with say 2-3Gb or more memory you may need to add -norestrictions -nomemrestrict to the launch options in Steam to be able to change the graphics settings from minimum.

Also a good idea to make a backup of the install directory before installing the mods just in case.

didnt know that. tnx man. i have 2GB Asus R9 270X OC Top Edition. is this because of the icenhancer mod or gta4 in general needs those parameters?

GTA IV in general man, otherwise it might tell you that your PC is below the recommended requirements.

i installed it, it works, but graphics are nowhere good as those in gameplay videos on youtube. distance objects are very blurry and they look like in bad resolution. i play on my max resolution and everything is maxed in video options.

That's probably because it's on version 1070, I tried again last night to downgrade to 1040 but it refuses to launch.

Bluegamer, can you post the exact steps you took to get 1040 running please? I've deleted all traces of the game , GFWL, Social Club and the mods so will start again.

me too. graphics were too messy in distance. did you tried it on 1070, were it same for you?

also, i'm concerned about this limit number of installations with securom. if i used revoke tool, will i use same activation if i install the game again, or a new one will be used?

i dont know, for me it does not look good, with 1070. i wont downgrade to 1040 since its big pain, i'll just try once more with only ice 3.0, without patch and additional textures. if still looks the same, i'll just forget about it :(

The issue I had was there's no Anti-Aliasing in GTA IV so I enabled it in GeForce control panel, it made things look much smoother but it has a very strong Post Process feel to it which I'm not really a big fan of.

The extra textures aren't supposed to cause an FPS drop so I'd install them but maybe run ICEnancer on one of it's lower settings. I think you can choose which ENB settings to use in the readme.

I just followed the steps that SuperGenaricName posted at the beginning of this discussion thread. Definetly make a backup of the vanilla 1070 version that steam downloads so that you don't have to redownload the 15GB all over again. If you still need any help along the way, let me know.

can some one help me i cant get tbogt to work everytime i load in it crashes on the first mission i love LC please help me. It works on normal gta4 but not tbogt
