GTA IV Social Club Is Annoying. IT DOESN'T WORK
I bought this game from steam.
I am forced to create Social Club account
I did.

Next day, I wanna play GTA IV, I already log in, BUT in game the message said "you're logged out from social club"
It doesnt make sense. I already log in! With that problem, the game FORCED ME TO RESTART NEW GAME. and that's frickin Annoying!

Well, there is: convince everyone to not buy another Rockstar game until they do away with the Rockstar launcher.

Admittedly I do have a bit of an idea how that one's going to go when GTA6 launches -- and do also see e.g. Ubisoft Connect, EA Origin, ...

The Rockstar Game Launcher has f.e. already pushed always-on on "us"; as long as people don't very seriously vote with their wallets game companies will continue to erode your ownership rights through private DRM via their launchers. And "gamers" won't -- 'cause wee, woo, yah, GTA6, waa, wooooooo.

Specifically as to GTA4 you can by the way downgrade the game to the old GFWL version so as to get rid of the RGL; there's guides on the forum here.

Open Defender, click "Virus and threat protection" then "Protection history" if you see "Protected folder access blocked" click it and if it's GTA IV, RockStar or Social Club click "Actions" and "Allow on device"

From Steam library, right click "GTA IV", then "Updates" then set "Always Keep game updated" to "Only update this game when I launch It" and "Never allow background downloads".

or... I'll just download any rockstar games "for free version" (if you know what I mean) like in my old days.

Seriously, I hate when any offline games must be online these days! :steamfacepalm:

Also when you sign in to Social Club or RockStar Launcher check "Remember Me".

That is actually part of the problem; adds legitimacy to claims of piracy and thereby to the mentioned private launchers / DRM as being needed to fight it. Because as long as you still play the game anyway there's no way anymore for anyone to discriminate between you having principles and, well, you having no principles to begin with.

As long as people do not stop buying and playing this will not end. And people won't in relevant and/or identifiable volume so this will not end.

Although I actually sort of applaud Rockstar for providing the current GTA4 version freed from Microsoft's GFWL now that that croaked, they've other than the always-on DRM by now also e.g. denied you access to content you once bought a license to (music stations, GTA4 multiplayer) and other than a few temporary pissed-off threads in e.g. this forum, nobody does anything, even though this is very clearly illegal in most any relevant jurisdiction.

Heck; Ubisoft recently stole even singleplayer DLC from customers of a fair number of their older titles on PC . That same few pissed-off posts follow -- and then nothing anymore. Many and in many cases even the same customers will buy Assasin's Creed Mirage when that launches, and as much as they will buy GTA6 when that does.

So it will never end.

yep. I wish there is a solution.

It's super easy to downgrade the game, and if you do you can download bug fixes and mods.

Make sure it is not being blocked by windows Defender.

Open Defender, click "Virus and threat protection" then "Protection history" if you see "Protected folder access blocked" click it and if it's GTA IV, RockStar or Social Club click "Actions" and "Allow on device"

If it was blocked you may have to uninstall Launcher, Social club and delete the RockStar files in your Documents folder then reinstall.

Then From Steam library, right click "GTA IV", then "Updates" then set "Always Keep game updated" to "Only update this game when I launch It" and "Never allow background downloads".

If it launches you can put the settings back to normal.

Did you uninstall first? From Windows go to Settings then Apps then click uninstall on Launcher and Social Club, Then delete the RockStar files in your Documents folder then from your Steam library, right click "GTA IV", then "Manage" then "local files" then "Verify Integrity of local files", This will take a long time but let it do it's thing. Then when it is done verifying and downloading click "Updates" then set "Always Keep game updated" to "Only update this game when I launch It" and "Never allow background downloads". Then Run the game and it will reinstall launcher when it asks for permissions say yes.

If it was such a simple problem, I wouldn't say it doesn't work
