[SOLVED] GTA IV RUNS ONLY WITH INTEGRATED GRAPHICS CARD

I've bought the pack of the 3D GTAs, and all the games are not running with my Nvidia Geforce 740m, they only run with the Intel Graphics.
I tried:
the commandline.txt ♥♥♥♥, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, I tried until 10.0, nothing
the paul.dll.disable
asking for nvidia geforce experience to optimize the game (the graphics configs goes to the right ones, but I cant run the game because it runs with the integrated card)
I tried the codes to run the game
I tried to set my Nvidia card as the main card of the computer, didnt work.

TO BE CLEAR: The game does not recognize my Nvidia Geforce 740m, only the Intel(R) HD Graphics Family.

btw I have 2048m of dedicated memory (or something like that, but more than 2gb)

HOW TO FIX:

Go to the game files, search for "commandline.txt" (if it does not exist, create one), open it, erase anything in there and write "-availablevidmem 20.0", then save, close and go to your steam library. In the library go to the game's properties and set the lauching options with the same code ("-availablevidmem 20.0"), now run the game.

If the memory stay lower than yours, just raise the number 10.

*PROBABLY THE MEMORY WILL BE HIGHER THAN YOU ACTUALLY HAVE*, but you will never reach this memory, so dont worry.

ATTENTION: minor graphic glitches and lower FPS may happen in cutscenes, the game is just not made to the computers of today

(do the same thing in the DLCs)

2048 m is 2gb. 1 kb is 1024 bytes, they're not rounded down. I'm assuming this issue you're having happens only for gta iv or the franchise?

It happened to me in GTA IV and Vice City, I have not checked the others, GTA 5 works fine

only some commandline ♥♥♥♥ that does not work. I just find a guy who was having problem to detect his dedicated graphic card (gtx 970), he said he went to the BIOS and set the graphics to use PCI-e graphics.

HE WAS NOT TALKING ABOUT GTA 4, he was only with problems to detect his card, may not work for us, dont touch your BIOS if you dont know what ure doing (I am not going there without a reliable friend that I am waiting)

Anyway, this friend of mine works with computers and he has already solved many problems for me, we'll try to fix this one and If we do, I will post here

Hello i have same problem with GTX 960M, i follow the steps, but i change the value to 2000.0, and now i have 2000 MB memory of GPU

edit: LOL I THOUGHT THIS WAS A GTA 5 ISSUE, now that I read it I see that it is actually the GTA 4 issue that I had. Yep, that is the fix right there, It should work...

Ma dude, I put it and it worked, I have the 6 vram that I have, but my game is not running at 60, I have the slot but it’s not running with my gtx 1650 super, what do I do? :0

it's been 4 years and I can't believe rockstar never fixed this. The solution is at the top, at least the one I found at that time

PERFECT FIX! Had to modify the digits a bit after "-availablevidmem" to Thousands range since I have 6gb of VRAM so to provide as a guide to others , if you have gigabytes of VRAM you should change it into this. (-availablevidmem 6000.0) = this is in my case, since I have 6 gigabytes. Thank you HydroKiro!!!

Enjoy your GTA4, it's an awesome game, I also recomment the Gay Tony DLC, it's the best single player dlc any gta has ever had
