Gta 4 multiplayer mods

So I’m thinking about buy one of my friends this game and we wanna know can we mod the game and playing together like zombie mod idk just skins guns cars and do they have to have download the mod to see what I have

You need the same mods to see what you have yes.

The game is pretty old and it was not designed to be modded. Workshop was not a thing yet (It will not be updated to get workshop, too old)

A lot of the mods you use cannot be seen unless like DoubleOhSeven said you and your friend have the same mods.

I would recommend using a different launcher that redirects the game's connection to another server, something like IV:MP does that, dont know how well (or if at all) it works with mods.

Please don't suggest the garbage that is IV:MP to anyone. Modding the standard multiplayer is fine. The only good alternative client for IV is Citizen FX.

Just please for the love of god don't go on public servers and try to spawn modded cars or weapons, it crashes everyone but you.
