Mods?

Im new to gta4 and ive tired before but failed so I wanna ask here. How do i get mods and install them on the steam version?

It's not really possible unfortunately, Since Rockstar re-released GTA IV last year and killed off pretty much the whole atmosphere of the game they have also made it pretty much impossible to mod the game, since there isn't really an official way to properly downgrade the game to the older patches when mods were compatible.

I know a few months ago I did somehow manage to mod the game myself by installing Scripthook and the Simple Native Trainer, however it just made the game more prone to crashing when i was using keybinds for the trainer, and crashes like this were less common before Rockstar updated the game to Complete Edition.

Even though i say it is "literally impossible" to mod the game, there are some guides on the that might be able to help downgrade the game and (maybe) support mods, but I can't confirm whether they work unfortunately, since such downgrades for Complete Edition require you to install a lot of certain files and a lot of instructions, and i also cannot confirm whether there will be consequences downgrading the game.

thanks bro, i guess thats sad, this game has so much more potential with mods but its still good on its own

You can easily mod it this guy is talking out of his ass lol you just have to downgrade your game and then you are good to go

the way you installs mods depends on what type of mod you're trying to install, if it's a script mod then just move the mod's files into your scripts folder after installing scripthook and an asi loader (The downgrader includes one so you don't have to download one if you downgrade your game with that downgrader), if it's an asi mod then do the same but put the files in your game's root directory instead of the scripts folder

Anybody know why I'm only getting 53 fps max after downgrading to 1.0.7.0?
