Hi Im downgrading from the latest version of gta iv complete edition to the 1.0.7.0 version and i im getting an error saying that the LaunchGTAIV.exe file is missing. im downgrading by getting the 1.0.7.0 patch and installing it it works fine but its not installing the LaunchGTAIV.exe . can anyone help me or suggest something maybe like a website i can download the file from or something like that.

It didnt work because when i add the xliveless addon it says to add the xlivless dll file and when i do it says that i should have the LaunchGTAIV.exe file to launch the game

Addon archive has everything you need to launch downgraded game. I don't know what and how but you missed something and you should probably start anew or at least unpack and copy original 1.0.7.0 patch files using the enclosed bat file again.

i followed all the steps and instructions and it didnt work i guess there isnt anything else to do

It is very strange, it may happen if you have some sort of a conflict. If you are willing to troubleshoot you may try again after rollback to working clean Steam installation e.g. delete all .dll .exe .asi files from your gta folder and its subfolders, scripts and plugins subfolders must be empty, delete common\shaders subfolder and verify game files to force Steam to redownload missing files. Before downgrade make sure that newly verified clean Steam game starts and works OK.

Also delete file SETTINGS.CFG with graphics settings from %LOCALAPPDATA%\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\Settings folder. It will be recreated by 1.0.7.0 GTAIV.exe.

thanks but i found a cracked version with the LaunchGTAIV.exe file in it on the pirate bay but thanks for your help because now i can use the things you told me with this file

It is good you got it working you are welcome. The whole point of X(liveless)Addon is to run through GTAIV.exe thus skipping unneeded LaunchGTAIV.exe code.
