**HOW MAKE GTA4 RUN BUTTER SMOOTH! EASILY!**

At first it was running horrible like a slideshow on my gtx1080.. literally unplayable.

Now look how smooth it is (garbage video quality be warned) its running at buttery 60fps

i used DXVK to convert dx9 to vulkan using this guide

Since the guide kinda sucks i just put all the files required into a single folder that you can download from my googledrive for your convenience. All you need to do is unzip the file, copy the 4 files inside, then paste them in your gta4 installation directory (in the same place where the gtaiv.exe file is located)

Its going to stutter for the first minute or so while vulkan loads the shaders, but trust me it becomes flawless after about a minute or so (you can reduce this stuttering by going to steam settings - shader settings - allow vulkan shaders to process in the background while playing)

If your gpu supports dx11 and vulkan its worth a shot

If it doesnt work just delete the 4 files you copied over

downloadingn contig64 (x64 for win 10) worked for me perfectly and it’s much faster and easier then other solutions.

no this isnt a config tweak, this is gta4 in such a new light that it feels like a brand new title

it feels like gta4 on gta5 game engine it runs so smooth

i can crank graphics up to max and i cant make a stutter if i tried my hardest. its just too buttery smooth

it should be unlocked now, im not sure why it was in the first place. I changed it to "anyone with link can download file"

If you had trouble following the guide you should have posted your questions and improvements there.

A) I include only links to DXVK, dxwrapper and other wrappers because they are under active development. For example DXVK had at least 2 updates since the guide was published and now dxvk.conf is not really needed.
B) It is preferable to download prebuilt binaries from trusted sources e.g. developer's site and not from some guy's google drive.

what is wrong with people downloading the file from a google drive tho? I know the guy who made enbdev did not like that either whats the difference?

Your guide was incomplete because i had to watch a seperate youtube video on how to make commandline.txt for gta4

why dont you just take all the needed files like i did and put them all in one nice neat folder? Then i wouldnt need to make a google drive

i just want people to see how smooth gta4 can be. Vulkan is amazing
