How's the steam version run?

Hey, so I'm thinking about playing this game again. How's the steam version run? Does it run okay or would I be better off with the console version?

For me it seems to run perfectly on Windows 10, GTX 1660 Super, 16GB RAM and AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Six Core 3.20 GHz.

I am replaying GTA IV right now and the steam version is pretty solid overall. I think you should be fine running GTA IV on your PC.

Except people don't use Steam Depot Downloader to roll back GTA IV (wouldn't even as good as fan made downgraders due to lack of DLC/fan fixes).

works perfectly locked fps to 60, no mods at all

It runs like ♥♥♥♥ for me and i have an i7/ gtx 1660. Constant frame drops. Also the game doesnt recognize all of your V ram.

theres performance guide in guide section. I did those steps and it works great now, before that it had performance problems i recommend to test those atleast

I found a major reason why i was getting stutter. I was told if i play with v sync on i should play on 1920- 1080 (60hz) resolution. I put it on the (120hz) option since it matches my moniter and got smooth gameplay little to no stutter . The only problem is this is what seemed to cause the infinite loading screen.

however for some reason there are times when it just wont launch - yesterday i played with 0 issues, today Im getting fatal error on startup.

since I cant edit my comment for whatever reason Ill just say it was my pc needing to refresh gpu drivers (which is strange since yesterday everything was ok and I was on most recent drivers anyway).
So on topic, game runs decent enough. It used to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ under GFWL.
