How to mod on GTA IV?

My game is on the version 1.2, the newest steam version, and i've looked through the internet and it is said that you can still use some mods without having to downgrade or anything.

So i installed a few scripts, nothing that changes the game files, just scripts, yet i cannot launch the game anymore.

Every time i try to launch the game, it starts loading and then on the rockstar launcher it says "Quitting".

I have tried installing just one mod at a time and the rockstar launcher always just quits the game.

Is there a way that i can at least launch the game with it modded?

this will help https://www.lcpdfr.com/downloads/gta4mods/g17media/26726-compatibility-patch-for-gta-iv-complete-edition/ it makes the mods work without crashing. just put "aCompleteEditionHook.asi" only in main dir game folder after downloading it
