GTA IV - "Union Drive" endless loading screen

I recently purchased GTA IV on steam a few days ago and ive been going through the story but ive gotten to the 2nd Bernie mission and the stops and just sits on the loading screen endlessly. I bypassed the problem at the first cutscene by restarting my PC and while the cutscene was playing I disconnected all my external USB devices, thing is that I cant get past the next part where i reach the first objective and it goes to the loading screen. Ive validated my files on steam and it was successful. Ive tried to use some other techniques like adding in commandlines to shortcuts or text files, but those would get me stuck on the main menu loading screen. does anybody have a fix?

yo dude,
i found out that all you gotta do is completely ignore union drive and do the other missions, reason why im guessing because union drive is supposed to happen after those missions. so just leave it until last.

trying to beat the mission by constantly unplugging all your usb devices is just unpratical and impossible.

I've done every mission including I'll take her, and to live and die in Alderny. and yet I still can't play Union Drive. HELP PLEASE!

its been nearly 4 years since ive played IV, my only suggestion is that you must have missed a mission somewhere

I'm just gonna keep playing and see what happens

100% SOLVE FOR THIS BUG:
I just used all the guesses from people at once, so I don't know for sure which one helped but it works. So, everything at once is following:
-Beat every other plot mission, until there is only Bernie's Union Drive mission is left.
-If you play the game in any language other than English, change it to the Eng in the steam game properties.
-Verify the game files.
-Make sure the game runs at 60Hz and the Vsync is ON.
-Turn off game auto-saving and save manually in your safehouse.
-Quit the game and launch it again. The game will load the last save as usually
-Start a new game and then manually load your safehouse save.
-Start the Union Drive mission and skip the cutscene.
Now it will work.
After beating the mission and manually saving in your safehouse, you can change the options to your liking.

cheers mate i faced the same problem with "search and delete" ill try this trick and ill give an update
